abstract = "O estudo avaliou a sensibilidade de 10 diferentes
parametriza{\c{c}}{\~o}es de microf{\'{\i}}sica (WSM3, WSM5,
Ferrier, WSM6, Goddard GCE, Thompson graunpel, Morrison-2, Double
Moment-5, Double Moment-6 e Thompsom) do modelo WRF para
radia{\c{c}}{\~a}o solar, na resolu{\c{c}}{\~a}o horizontal de
16km e 4km, em localidades com caracter{\'{\i}}sticas de
altitude e clima diferentes do Cear{\'a}. Para a
parametriza{\c{c}}{\~a}o de radia{\c{c}}{\~a}o utilizou-se a
parametriza{\c{c}}{\~a}o RRTM (Mlawer et al.,1997) para
radia{\c{c}}{\~a}o de onda longa e Dudhia (Dudhia,1989) para
radia{\c{c}}{\~a}o de onda curta. As simula{\c{c}}{\~o}es
foram realizadas com o modelo WRF para os tr{\^e}s primeiros dias
do m{\^e}s de mar{\c{c}}o de 2009. Utilizou-se os dados
observacionais hor{\'a}rios de radia{\c{c}}{\~a}o solar
provenientes das Plataformas de Coleta de Dados (PCDs) da FUNCEME
operando em Itapipoca no norte cearense; Acara{\'u} no Litoral
Cearense; Acopiara e Cedro localizadas no CentroSul cearense. Os
resultados mostraram que em todas as localidades ocorrem
dificuldades em simular o efeito das nuvens sobre a
irradia{\c{c}}{\~a}o terrestre. Os resultados mostraram que
{\'e} importante avaliar a configura{\c{c}}{\~a}o ideal do
modelo de mesoescala WRF antes de utiliz{\'a}-lo para simular a
irradia{\c{c}}{\~a}o solar na regi{\~a}o Nordeste do Brasil,
devido {\`a}s particularidades clim{\'a}ticas observadas na
regi{\~a}o, relacionadas, principalmente, ao efeito das nuvens na
irradia{\c{c}}{\~a}o solar. Em rela{\c{c}}{\~a}o {\`a}s
parametriza{\c{c}}{\~o}es de microf{\'{\i}}sica, o esquema de
Morrison, esquema de Ferrier, o esquema WSM5, esquema de Thompson
Graupel e Double Moment-6 apresentaram desempenhos semelhantes. Os
resultados mostraram que {\'e} importante usar um esquema com
mais conte{\'u}do l{\'{\i}}quido para simular melhor a
influ{\^e}ncia da nuvem no litoral, especialmente para
simula{\c{c}}{\~o}es com resolu{\c{c}}{\~a}o horizontal
inferior a quatro quil{\^o}metros. Na regi{\~a}o
semi-{\'a}rida, onde a precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o anual {\'e}
inferior a 1000 mil{\'{\i}}metros/ano, os esquemas
microf{\'{\i}}sicos apresentam maior dissimilaridade, com
vi{\'e}s menor obtidos quando foi utilizado o esquema de
microf{\'{\i}}sica mais simples. Este foi uma trabalho
preliminar, que pretende ser ampliado e aprofundado em trabalhos
futuros. ABSTRACT: This study evaluated the performance of
mesoscale model WRF to forecast solar irradiation, using 10
different microphysics parameterization schemes (WSM3, WSM5,
Ferrier, WSM6, Goddard GCE, graunpel Thompson, Morrison-2,
Double-5 Moment , DoubleMoment 6 and Thompson). Two horizontal
resolutions were evaluated: 16km and 4km. The RRTM scheme was used
to parameterize the radiative processes for longwave radiation and
Dudhia method was used for shortwave radiation. The simulations
were performed with the WRF model for the first three days of
March 2009. Observational data acquired at four ground sites with
typical climate characteristics of Brazilian Northeastern region
were used to evaluated the model performance. The hourly solar
radiation data was acquired in automatic weather stations operated
by FUNCEME at the coastal area (Itapipoca and Acara{\'u}) and at
the semi-arid area (Acopiara and Cedro) of Cear{\'a}. The results
showed that it is quite important to evaluate the optimal
configuration of the mesoscale model WRF before start using it to
forecast solar irradiation in Brazilian Northeastern region due to
the particular climate features observed in the region, mainly
related to the effect of clouds on surface solar irradiation.
Regarding the microphysical parameterizations, the Morrison
scheme, Ferrier scheme, WSM 5 scheme, Thompson Graupel scheme and
Double Moment -6 scheme have present similar performances. The
results showed that it is important to use a scheme with more
liquid content to better simulate the cloud influence at the
coastal area, especially for simulations with horizontal
resolution lower than 4km. In the semi-arid region, where the
annual rainfall are lower than 1000mm/year, the microphysical
schemes present larger dissimilarity, with smaller bias obtained
when the simplest microphysical scheme was used. This was a
preliminary study, which aims to be deepened in future work.",
